Each discipline is led by a senior specialist and supported by shared field equipment and our in-house laboratory. Most projects draw on two or three at once — they are listed separately for clarity, not to be sold as silos. The five disciplines mirror the five dots in our mark.

Where the work goes.

Six overlapping infrastructure sectors that drive most of our project portfolio. Each carries its own subsurface risk and its own regulatory pathway — and that is where we earn our place on the team.

Hydropower

Headrace and tailrace alignments, surge shafts, dam and weir foundations, powerhouse caverns. From 4.5 MW community schemes to the 203 MW Mathillo Budhigandaki — subsurface uncertainty is the single largest contingency on most hydropower budgets, and our work targets exactly that.

Roads, Tunnels & Airports

Highway corridors, road-tunnel portals, cut-slope stability, runway foundations. We've supported Packages 6 and 7 of the Kathmandu–Terai/Madhesh Fast Track, feasibility for the Banepa domestic airport, and five tunnel-corridor feasibility studies.

Bridges

Geophysical and geotechnical characterisation of crossing sites — pier and abutment foundations along major highway projects, including Fast Track Packages 6 and 7.

Transmission & Substations

Tower-foundation siting along long linear alignments, substation geotechnical packages, and corridor-scale mapping for transmission projects including the Karnali Corridor and Arun Hub.

Groundwater & Water Supply

Aquifer characterisation, well-siting using 2D-ERT and VES, sustainable yield assessment. Clients span Nepal Khanepani Sansthan, municipal water utilities and Mercy Corps / USAID humanitarian programmes.

Slopes, Landslides & Buildings

Active and dormant slope investigation, geohazard assessment for vulnerable areas (commissioned by the National Disaster Risk Reduction & Management Authority), and geotechnical packages for institutional and hospital buildings.

The Firm

What we are, in plain terms.

Manifold Consult Pvt. Ltd. was registered under the Company Act 2006 in August 2017 to provide specialist services in geophysics, geology, engineering geology, geotechnical investigation and civil engineering. We are eleven people — five directors with primary field experience, four technical staff and two in administration and coordination.

We work for private developers, government agencies, donor-funded programmes and contractors. Most of our briefs come back. The reason for that, as far as we can tell, is fairly unglamorous: we tell clients what the ground is doing — including when that is inconvenient — and we deliver on the schedule we agreed to.
